Nyhamna: SmartField
SmartField is a Shell-defined concept to improve operations of our fields by using new technology.
The intention is to continuously optimise operation of Ormen Lange in terms of technical security, production and reserves.
A range of proposals has been considered for the Ormen Lange project – and certain highly intriguing measures have been unveiled:
- Collaboration rooms have been installed at Aukra, Kristiansund and soon in Stavanger. These centres facilitate improved communication, contact, risk management and problem solving.
- Introduction of monitoring systems for maintenance and production.
- Use of hand-held, wireless tools, and the introduction of automatic tracking and counting of personnel.
- Special simulator for simulation of flow situation (FAS).
