Dette øker feltets utvinningsgrad fra 75 til 85 prosent. Ormen Lange eksporterer sin gass via Langeled til Europa og bidrar dermed til å sikre pålitelig forsyning fra Norge.\u003C/p\u003E\r\n\u003Cp\u003ETo stasjoner med kompressorer som håndterer rikgass skal installeres på havbunnen nær brønnhodene på 900 meters havdyp. Dette øker gasstrømmen fra reservoaret og inn i brønnene. Avstanden mellom land og havbunnskompressorene representerer ny lengderekord på strømkabel til kompressorer under vann.\u003C/p\u003E\r\n\u003Cp\u003E– Vi er stolte over å ha tatt investeringsbeslutning på et prosjekt som flytter tekniske grenser og som bidrar til å styrke Norges posisjon som et globalt knutepunkt for undervannsindustrien, sier Marianne Olsnes, administrerende direktør i A/S Norske Shell.\u003C/p\u003E\r\n\u003Cp\u003EOrmen Lange er blant feltene med lavest karbonintensitet i Norge. Feltet er elektrifisert med kraft fra det norske strømnettet og gassen blir prosessert i et lukket system på Nyhamna gassanlegg.\u003C/p\u003E\r\n\u003Cp\u003ENorsk innhold i prosjektet er anslått til 78 prosent.
